Ashleigh McHugh was named the Director of Economic Development in July 2023. Ashleigh was born and raised in Zachary and is a proud Zachary High graduate. Her community involvement includes Zachary Rotary Club and Must Luv Dogs Rescue. She was previously Executive Director at the Zachary Chamber of Commerce, where she built long-lasting relationships with local businesses.

The mission of the City of Zachary’s Department of Economic Development is to develop and maintain a strong and flourishing economy in the city through business, infrastructure, downtown development, and varied housing options. The Department of Economic Development recruits new businesses to serve the growing city while providing existing businesses with the tools and training they need to withstand shifting economies, public demand, and market trends.

In addition, she engages with community groups and stakeholders, uniting the community while planning festivals and events in our city.
