Small Increase Adjustment For Garbage and Recycling Starts December 2023

As a result of cost increases implemented by Waste Management, City of Zachary residents and small commercial units will soon see a 6 percent increase on their monthly trash/garbage and recyclable collection bill. Waste Management currently has the city's contract for curbside garbage/solid waste pickup and recycling inside the city limits of Zachary.

The City Council approved the small rate adjustment on November 14, 2023. Effective December 2023, the City of Zachary will collect an additional $ 1.48-month increase to cover rising costs. The cost of this service per month will now be $26.01. The Senior Garbage Rate will be adjusted to 5 percent, an increase of .65 cents per month, for a total of $13.62 for garbage and recycling. Curbside garbage/recycling pickup service will remain twice a week per week. 

Rates for Garbage Outside the city limits will be unchanged as East Baton Rouge Parish sets these charges.
