Louisiana Governor Appoints Zachary Building Official To Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code

Scott Masterson, City of Zachary Building Official was recently appointed to the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council.

The Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council consists of nineteen members appointed by the Governor. The primary function of the council is to review and adopt the state uniform construction code, provide training and education of code officials, and accept all requests for amendments of the code, except the Louisiana State Plumbing Code.

"The appointment of Scott is welcome news for our city," says Mayor David Amrhein. Scott has served as Building Official since 2007 and has been with the City of Zachary since 2003. In 2016, Scott was appointed by the Louisiana State Construction Code Council to serve on the international Residential Review Sub-Committee. He was also the Past President of the Building Officials Association of Louisiana (BOAL), which is dedicated to the building code enforcement profession, fostering communication and education among building officials, plans examiners, inspectors, and associate members throughout Louisiana.
