Mayor David McDavid Announces Hurricane Helene Relief Drop-off Location in the City of Zachary

In the wake of Hurricane Helene's devastation, the City of Zachary is launching a relief initiative to assist those in need. Community members are encouraged to donate essential items.

Donations can be dropped off at the enclosed City of Zachary trailer at the City Hall Annex, located at 4650 Main Street, or at the Zachary Fire Department at 4510 Main Street.

Mayor McDavid stated, “Our dedicated Zachary Strong Team will depart from the Zachary Fire Department on Monday morning, October 14th, to deliver these supplies and provide meals to those affected in Asheville, NC. Your support is invaluable as we come together to help our neighbors in need.” A heartfelt thank you to the many community businesses and residents who already generously contributed funds to this relief effort, choosing to remain anonymous in their support.

  • Hygiene products: soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste
  • Water
  • Pet food: dry and canned
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Warm clothing or blankets
  • Baby wipes, diapers, formula, baby bottles
  • Canned goods with pop-top lids
  • Tuna fish
  • Peanut butter
  • Snacks
  • Cereal
  • Dried fruit
  • Shelf-stable milk
  • Soap
  • Paper towels
  • Depends (men's and women's)
  • Sanitary pads
  • Toothpaste
  • Mouthwash
  • Dry shampoo
  • Lip balm
  • Disposable razors
  • Toilet paper
  • Body lotion and spray
  • Over-the-counter medications: Tylenol, Benadryl, allergy meds, Neosporin, bug bite cream, band-aids
