LDH Gives Zachary Water System Perfect Score

The City of Zachary is pleased to announce that the Louisiana Department of Health has given Zachary’s city water system a perfect score. On January 1, the Louisiana Department of Health released preliminary grades for 954 community water systems around the state. The grades are part of a new program in which the state issues yearly grades — similar to those for schools — for water systems around the state.
The water system earned 80 out of 80 points based on seven standards, including federal and state water quality, operations, maintenance, infrastructure, and secondary contaminants. “City of Zachary Utility Directors Jeff Johnson and Lionel Lawson have been incredible assets to the Zachary water system, and it’s because of their dedication and taking care of business that the city received this amazing report,” says Mark Covington, Thornton, Musso & Bellemin Water Treatment Consultant.
