Donald Morgan Appointed to Interim Zachary Council Seat

Governor John Bell Edwards appointed Donald Morgan to fill the vacancy on the Zachary Council, representing District 2. He was officially sworn into office on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Zachary Council Meeting. He will serve as interim until someone is elected in the November election. The person elected would then serve out the remainder of the unexpired term, which goes through the end of 2022.
Donald Morgan has resided in Zachary for over 40 years with his wife, Libby Morgan. Donald officially retired from Exxon Chemical after 30 years, but currently works as a consultant on projects at Exxon.
He is a Member of the Men’s Club and Knights of Columbus at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary where he and his wife have been parishioners for over 40 years. He is also a Board Member of the Republic of West Florida Historical Association and Dawson Cemetery Board.
Donald & Libby reared their two children, Travis and Melanie, both graduates of Zachary High School, in Zachary. They are the proud grandparents of 4 (soon to be 5) grandchildren. Libby retired from the Zachary Community School System as a teacher at Northwestern Middle School.
