City of Zachary

Ambre DeVirgilio was elected to serve as Councilwoman  District 3, City of Zachary in 2022. She served as the Mayor Pro-tempore in 2023. She was raised in East Baton Rouge Parish, graduating from Baton Rouge Magnet High School. Councilwoman DeVirgilio attended Louisiana State University before transferring to the State University of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology campus where she was conferred two degrees, with honors.

Upon graduation, Ambre began her career in the corporate fashion industry along New York City's famed Seventh Avenue,  the heart of the Garment District. Her design career developed an eye for detail as well as a strong business, project management and problem-solving acumen. She thrives in collaborative environments and idea exchanges.

The DeVirgilio Family relocated to Zachary in 2017 and is proud to call Zachary home. Her husband, Louie, is retired from service in the New York City Police Department. They share two children, Luke and Evangeline.

Mrs. DeVirgilio is a member of Zachary Charity League, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, AIGA (the Professional Association for Design), and Zachary Community School District’s parent involvement organization, ZEPTO. She has served as a representative for Rollins Place Elementary on the School Board Parental Involvement Committee and served two terms in her neighborhood's Homeowner's Association, most recently as Vice President.

Ambre holds a strong commitment to serving the constituents of District 3 and constituents throughout the city. Fostering initiatives and adopting policies that will continue to make Zachary a desirable place to live are her priority.
