Mayor’s Annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast Set For November 4th

Mayor David Amrhein would like to extend an invitation to the community to attend the Mayor’s Annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast on Friday, November 4th, at 7:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Zachary, Family Life Center, located at 4200 Main Street.

This year’s theme is “Peace Be Still”.  The Honorable John Bel Edwards, Governor of Louisiana will be the keynote speaker at the event.  William “Billy” Kline will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

A full breakfast buffet, prepared by the Zachary Fire Department and served by the Rotary Club of Zachary will begin at 7 a.m.  Music will be provided by the Zachary High School Jazz Band and the Bronco Beat Choir.

It’s truly a community event.  Attendees will hear Bible readings from students at Northwestern Middle and Copper Mill Elementary, prayers from local clergy members and solo performances by the Bronco Beat Choir and Kyle Shepard, Fellowship Church.  Each year, the Zachary High School Art Department designs the program, and selects a student whose art work best depicts the theme.  Area businesses have been invited to participate by volunteering to decorate one of the forty-five tables with fall centerpieces.  If you are interested in decorating a table this year, contact Kathi Brumley in the Mayor’s Office at 225 654-0287.

"Please join us as we gather together to usher in the New Year and reflect on our many blessings as a City”, says Mayor Amrhein.  Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event for $5.00.
