The Disaster Recovery Center for 70791 residents, located at the Zachary Men's Club at 5746 Rollins Road is a one stop shop for recovery to those persons whose homes were flooded. Some of the services that FEMA can help with is: Registering for assistance, get status checks, assistance with appeal letters and fax documents into FEMA.
The FEMA National Flood Insurance Program can provide information on dwelling coverage, personal property coverage, exclusions, base flood elevation, multiple flood zones, benefit of flood insurance and more.
FEMA can hazard mitigation information such as: mold/mildew removal information, mitigation information relating to specific damage/repair, and additional proactive mitigation measures.
IRS is on hand to help with amended tax returns, requests for prior year returns, change of address, guidance in calculating casualty losses, (business and individuals) and guidance and importance of reconstruction records.
HUD is supplying information on temporary housing information, short and long term solutions to housing needs, flexibility in HOME and CDBG funds, 90 moratorium on foreclosures FHA - insured mortgages, federal guaranteed loans for State and Local Government Housing, rehabilitation, economic development and repair of public structures and information rebuilding a safe, healthy home after the disaster.
SMALL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is on hand to provide information on low interest Disaster Home repair loans, including businesses, non-profits and renters.
Louisiana Spirit - Crisis Counseling is also available for crisis counseling and offers a 24 hour talk line.
AMERICORPS - Information on Crisis Clean-up
This clearinghouse of information will be available 7 days a week, from 8am to 6 p.m.
