City of Zachary Announces Online Surplus Auction
Posted by zachary on January 25, 2018
Beginning February 6th through February 20th, bidders will have the opportunity to make continuous online bids for various surplus items owned by the City of Zachary. The City of Zachary has a wide variety of surplus items including numerous cars and trucks, bulk fuel tanks, computers, auto parts and office supplies.
These surplus items and more can be viewed using Municibid, an online auction site for government agencies at www.municibid.com. All auctions take place online and are available to bid 24 hours a day. Successful bidders pay an 8% buyer’s premium directly to Municibid.
A link on the City of Zachary’s website at www.municibid.com/cityofzachary will also bring interested bidders straight to the auction site. Select a Region – Louisiana, and the City of Zachary items up for bidding will be available for viewing starting February 6th.
Last year, using Municibid, the City of Zachary netted approximately $45,000.00. “Taking merchandise that is no longer usable and hopefully getting some return of it is a good deal for the taxpayer,” says Chip Troth, City of Zachary Purchasing Director.
