2015 Louisiana Community Achievement Award

The City of Zachary was named the winner of 2015’s Community Achievement Award in the category for “Outstanding Community Improvement in Basic Services”, for its nomination of the W. Mt. Pleasant Road Improvements Project, which was completed in January of 2016.
This year’s annual LMA banquet and awards dinner was held on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at the Riverfront Auditorium and Convention Center in Alexandria, Louisiana - the host city for this year’s event.
The honor was awarded in the category of cities ranging in size from 10,000 to 25,000 residents. Zachary finished among the top of a field of sixty plus city’s, vying for twenty-two coveted spots among this year’s award winners.
This year’s award marks the fourth time in as many years for the City of Zachary entrees; with two previous “Honorable Mention” recognitions and this now second, “Best in Category” award following its 2014’s winning nominee, The Hwy. 64 Montegudo By-pass Road Project.
The annual LMA Community Achievement Awards are presented to municipalities that have nominated outstanding projects promoting progress in municipal services during the past calendar year, an LMA news release stated.
