Mayor’s Annual Prayer Breakfast

Meetings & Events

Prayer Breakfast

The City of Zachary Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is an annual, local Christian event held on the first Friday of November at First Baptist Church Zachary. You are invited to join Mayor David Amrhein for this community event sponsored by The City of Zachary.

Each year the city chooses a theme, and area schools and church leaders contribute their talent and devotion making this event a memorable occasion. Local and state leaders, school district staff, city employees, student groups, church leaders, civic and community organizations, businesses and residents gather to pray for our government, asking God’s blessing and guidance for our city and state.

The speaker, chosen by the City of Zachary is a recognized leader in the profession of government or business. This person is an individual who exemplifies the highest values, spirituality, morality, ethics and through this challenges others to do the same. This leader is one who will inspire those in attendance to follow their religious beliefs, commitments, insights and convictions in their daily living.

A full breakfast buffet is prepared by the Zachary Fire Department and served by the Rotary Club of Zachary.

Area businesses are invited to participate each year by decorating one of the 45 tables with fall centrepieces.  There is no fee to participate.

Tickets to the event are available at the City of Zachary Mayor’s Office (225) 654-0287 or the door on the day of the event.  Tickets are $5.00 each; breakfast buffet opens at 7:00 a.m. and the program starts at 7:30 a.m.
